David Bakken Scores  /  8/7/2008
This hunt was on the second to the last day of the 2007 bow hunting season in Wisconsin and it was a cold November day with high winds.  I opted to sleep in and get on stand mid morning and sit through the afternoon.  With the rut still in full swing I did a few rattle / grunt sequences to see if I couldn't pull anything my way.  Around 11 o'clock, shortly after a rattle sequence, thi...

David Bakken's WI 10-Pointer  /  8/7/2008
This buck was shot on October 29th 2006 at roughly 4:15 in the afternoon.  The weather was clear with temperatures in the low forties and winds up to 15mph.  I got on stand early around 1:30 - 2:00pm with a long hike to the stand I wanted to give the area plenty of time to settle down before that prime time of the evening begins.  I had a young doe forag...

Northwest Illinois is full of turkey and deer.  Jim and Marie Broberg have been chasing Mr. Longbeard for the past few weekends, and while they came close, no shots were fired.  Many Buckeye Cam photos show that the birds are there.  Here is a cool shot of the "local residents" enjoying a late dinner together.  Last weekend, the birds were very vocal and they were not too shy, but they still were cautious enough to stay out of range.

FREAK BUCK DOWN!  /  3/11/2008
Jim Broberg does it again!  During an early November bow hunt in NW Illinois, Team Pine Ridge member Jim Broberg found a lot of action during an AM hunt.    The sun was coming up, and the nearby field was getting more visible.  Back in the timber, however, the woods held onto the past evening’s darkness as long as it could.  Through his rapidly changing surroundings, Jim could not see movement yet, but he could hear something walking in from the West.  The first deer to p...
