SPIN TO WIN BY JIM BROBERG

submitted on : 9/1/2009
It's getting to be that time of year again.  It is time to take the field points off and put the broadheads on. Over the years I have heard one particular story over and over; "I shot all summer long and I had perfect, tight groups. I put my broadheads on and some of my arrows are cork screwing through the air. I shoot carbon arrows and I thought they are perfectly straight."  My reply; "You have to spin check your arrows on the Arrow Inspector, with and without your broadheads!

There are different grades of arrows, some are out of round. With a field point you won’t notice it much, but when you screw on a broadhead, the problem may occur. This is why we designed the Arrow Inspector.  It sets up in seconds and can be stored back in the package to fit in your field pack when you travel. What is the difference between the Arrow inspector and other spin checkers? The Arrow Inspector has almost friction free operation so it's large diameter wheels spin your arrow many more revolutions than a ball bearing balancer.  I will keep it simple.
  1. Spin your arrows and identify the ones with a wobble, and set those aside.
  2. Take your straight arrows and screw your broadheads on and spin them.
  3. Pay attention to the broadhead to see if it appears to be spinning true.  If it is, it will fly true. That’s a good arrow and should be in your quiver.
  4. If you spin a arrow with a broadhead and the broadhead wobbles, it is either the broadhead or it could be the insert is glued in crooked.
  5. Take the broadhead and put it on another arrow and see how it spins.  Repeat the process with any other "off" arrows.
The bottom line is, check your arrows before you go hunting, you will have full confidence in your arrows!
Good luck this season!
