Last week, Tony King, Jack Mielke, Andrew Mielke and their dogs Bean, Lennie and Charlie passed their Junior Field Test which was put on by the Central WI Vizsla Club and held at the Ottawa Field Trial Grounds in Eagle, WI. ALEX KING STRIKES AGAIN!  /  10/6/2009
With bow season underway, Alex King does not miss an opportunity to take something with his bow.  Here is Alex's description of his squirrel hunt:   The squirrel was about 12 yards away when I took my shot.  After my shot, the squirrel ran up the tree and died.  I had to...

SUMMERTIME BLUES BY JIM BROBERG  /  7/21/2009
Summertime Blues? I don't think so! As most people are starting to get tired of the summer heat and like to sit by there air conditioners, I look at from a different angle, It's time to see who's in the neighborhood. This is time time of year to get your trail cameras in the woods, over food plots and on fence lines. Its time to see who survived the winter and see who the king of the forest is! I like to keep a photo album of all the different bucks on the properties I hunt on. ...

CAMPBELLS BUCK BY DAVID BAKKEN  /  6/4/2009
Competing in the Campbell Outdoor Challenge as Team Pine Ridge Archery was something my brother Scott and I were looking forward to all year. We knew this was an opportunity of a lifetime. With me filming, Scott shot his biggest buck earlier in Wisconsin.  Now,...

THE GIFT BY WAYNE KING  /  5/19/2009
“THE GIFT” As the year comes to a close, I sit here wondering where this year went. Christmas was great. Every year my mother and father have all the kids and grandkids down for 10-12hrs of laughter, gifts, games and food as far as the eye can see. This year was different. This year, I had a special gift for my nephew and I couldn’t wait to get back home to present it. During the day at my parents, we re...

SCOTT BAKKENS WI BUCK BY DAVID BAKKEN  /  4/21/2009
Click Here to watch the video of this hunt. This hunt was extra special because northern Wisconsin was where my brother Scott and I learned most of what we know about hunting and the outdoors. We seldom get a chance to hunt with each other so having this be the stage for my brother to take his largest whitetail to date was unbelievable.

ARROW BUILDING BY TRACY BREEN  /  3/25/2009
If you are a bowhunter or an archery retailer, you know the importance of having a properly built arrow that flies like a dart every time it is shot - whether it’s in your backyard at the 3D tournament or in the woods. After all, it doesn’t matter how state-of-the-art your bow and all the accessories you have attached to it are; if your arrow isn’t built and tuned properly, hitting a small dot at a great distance is going to be tough. Hitting a whitetail in the vitals when...

Building a Whitetail Paradise Being involved in the outdoor industry, I am privileged to meet many great people. During the 2006 ATA trade show I had met a gentleman by the name of Bob Coin. Bob has a series of DVD's called, Building a Whitetail Paradise.  I am a whitetailahalic and I am continuously looking for new info on food...

The Value of a Well Placed Camera - By: Tracy Breen  /  2/17/2009
Can you remember hunting deer and turkeys without the aid of a scouting camera? In some ways, it was down right boring compared to hunting with a scouting camera. I remembe...

Winding Down - By: Jim Broberg  /  1/22/2009
Once the season is over I find myself having a hard time winding down!  One of the ways I deal with the withdrawal is to think of what went right and what went wrong.  This includes everything from food plots, stand placement and when I picked the wrong stand for the wind.  Everything is thought about.  Lets start with food plots, I plant...
